SIMILITUDE, ASSIMILATION, ELISION

Similitude : is the use of a certain variety of sound at the present time.
Assimilation : is a process of replacing one sound by another under particular conditions (in the course of history or when putting words together in forming sentence).

Elision : is the dropping of a sound which once existed or which still exists in precise time.


Similitude :
  • Ordinary/ k/ can be uttered in such word as [curtain]
  • fronter articulation of /k/ can be seen in such word [keep]
  • backer articulation can be uttered in such word [ cornet]
